| Hiking the Quarry Hill at Lake Kahola |
We did several training hikes this past week at Kahola. It was hot. We took a lot of water and maxed out at just over 5 miles. I got my first look at Kahola Joe's, "Beer, Bait, and Beyond", which will be our backup vendor for supplies next summer. Can't wait for the temperature to decrease and our mileage to increase.
Tonight I made our first batch of DIY powdered laundry detergent containing bar soap, Borax, and washing soda. Hopefully this will be the start of many years without purchasing commercial laundry detergent. I also made a batch of dishwasher detergent but am less optimistic about how it will perform. Results to follow.
